Lake Kara-Kamysh. The name means “black reed”, although it is also often called Kara-Suu or Kara-Suu-Bashikel, after the river that led to the formation of the reservoir. It is 1.5 km long and 500 m wide. Lake Kara-Kamysh is located in the village of Kara-Suu in the Aksy district of the Jalal-Abad region at an altitude of 1870 m above sea level, in the Kara-Suu reservoir. The area of the lake is 44.6 hectares. On its shores grow Tien Shan pine and endemic white pine Semenov, listed in the Red Book.
