Bishkek is the capital of Kyrgyzstan, located at the foot of the Tien Shan mountains in Central Asia.

Where to visit in Bishkek:

State Museum of Fine Arts

The museum is worth visiting for its collection of Kyrgyz embroidery and felt carpets, a wide variety of painting sand national and international touring exhibitions. Last admission at 17.30.

Ala-Too Square

The center of Bishkek, overlooked by the triumphal statue of Manas the Mighty, is architecturally neo-brutalist but photogenic. In summer, the concrete of the northern half of the square is softened by attractive flower displays and a fountain that doubles as a pool for local children.

Osh Bazaar

Bishkek’s most central bazaar has a certain obsessive interest and is an important landmark of the city. Traditional Kyrgyz clothing, such as white imitation felt ak kalpak hats and colorful shepherd’s chests, are available from stalls outside the Kiyal building at the southern end of the bazaar. It is deserted on Mondays but busy on other days. In osh bazaar people sell all kind of people needs like food, clothing, mobile phones, souvenir shops and etc

Dubovi Park

The lush, wide Erkindyk Street (Freedom Street) leads into this pleasant central park, where artists sell a variety of local-themed paintings. There is a small open-air sculpture garden in the oak grove behind the statue of Kurmanjan Datka. The park was officially renamed after the local writer Chingiz Aitmatov, but no one calls it anything other than Oak Park.

Dordoy Bazaar

Built mostly from repurposed ships, this bazaar has a flavor reminiscent of modern Silk Road trade, albeit a little smaller since Kyrgyzstan joined the Eurasian Customs Union.in this bazaar most the of selling things (except vegetables) a lot cheaper than any bazaar in Bishkek.

Panfilov Park

Filled with amusement parks and carnival rides, this city center park is particularly pleasant and overflowing with local families on summer weekends. Children’s attractions, a lot kind of trees you can see in Panfilov Park.

Frunze House Museum

This modest museum consists of a concrete shell around a thatch-roofed hut believed to be the birthplace of Mikhail Vasilievich Frunze (1885-1925), whose Bishkek (Pishpek) was renamed ‘Frunze’ shortly after his death. Little information is available in English, but even without captions, most of the photographs depicting both Bishkek and the Bolshevik revolution (interpreted through Frunze’s role) will be of interest to visitors.

Victory Monument Square

Commemorating the 40th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, this memorial is designed to resemble three iconic yacht propellers curling above the eternal flame. It is located on the vast grounds of Victory Square.

White House

The sidewalk in front of this modern Stalinist building, Kyrgyzstan’s seat of government, is also the scene of regular protests by local citizens representing various causes.
