The Chui region is located in the north of Kyrgyzstan. It borders Kazakhstan in the north and west, Talas and Jalal-Abad oblasts in the southwest, and Issyk-Kul Oblast in the southeast.

The Chui region consists of several regions: Chon-Kemin, Kichi-Kemin, Susamyr, Kirghiz Ala-Too and Kyungei Ala-Too. The lowest point of the valley is at an altitude of 550 m above sea level, and the highest is 4895 m.

The city of Bishkek (the capital of Kyrgyzstan) is located in the Chui region. Other major cities: Kant, Tokmak and Karabalta.
