The Barskoon Gorge is one of the most beautiful gorges on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, famous for its high waterfalls and dense spruce forests. The gorge was famously visited by Yuri Gagarin, the first man to fly into space.

The Barskaun Gorge is about 30 km long. It runs deep into the Tersky Ala- Too mountains, reaching the plateau (Shilta) Arabel, which is separated from the gorge by a stepped gorge. The height of the gorges in the Barskoon Gorge is very high, reaching 4,000 meters. Barskoon, both for its natural beauty and the Barskoon waterfalls: Tears of the Leopard, the Manas Bowl, Sparkling Champagne and the Bearded White Beard. Among the cultural attractions of the valley, the camp of Tagay Bii (also known as Muhammad Kyrgyz) is important.
