Jeti-Oguz Gorge (Jeti-Oguz) is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Issyk-Kul region. It is located 30 km from the city of Karakol and attracts many domestic and foreign tourists.
Jeti-Oguz means “seven bulls” in Kyrgyz. It got such a special name thanks to the red clay rocks, which are the hallmark of the gorge. It is unusual for the Tien Shan Mountains that the rocks have a very bright color.
Jeti-Oguz is also known as a balneological resort with radon and hydrogen sulfide springs. The resort is located at an altitude of 2,200 m and is designed for a simultaneous stay of 250 people. These sources are used for the treatment of neurological, musculoskeletal and skin diseases. The resort can also be visited for preventive purposes.
The valley is quite long – 40 km, and there are many interesting objects on this vast territory. The Jeti-Oguz waterfalls are widely known, among which the Maiden Spit waterfalls are popular with tourists, so named for the strange pattern of water cascading down the rocks.

12 km above the resort is the Valley of Flowers, where the “Cosmonauts’ House” is located. This is by no means a poetic name. In Soviet times, participants of space flights really trained and rested here. There are many trees growing here, and in May this small valley is covered with a carpet of poppies.
Many tourist routes pass through Jeti-Oguz. From here you can get to the Karakol Gorge and Ala-Kul Lake through the Teleti Pass, as well as visit the Salihat Ertash Nature Reserve and admire the peaks of Oguz-Bashi and Zhukov.
