Jalal-Abad Region

Admin 1 22.02.2024

The Jalal-Abad region is probably the most culturally and geographically diverse region of Kyrgyzstan. Here, the cultures of the northern and southern parts of the country merge, and the natural resources are so diverse and at the same time remarkable that it is possible to see them all in less than two weeks. The Jalal Abad region is attractive to tourists because of its diversity. The stunning nature of the region is markedly different from the rest of the Tian-shan Mountains. The Tian-shan Mountains border the Fergana Valley, an ancient center of civilization. The favorable climate on the border between the mountains and the vast valley has created Arslanbob, the largest walnut forest in the world. The mountain lakes of Jalal Abad are relatively low in altitude, the shores are densely covered with conifers and the water is clear enough to see the bottom. The eastern part of the region is home to one of the world’s largest collections of petroglyphs, the Saimalu Stone. In the western part of the region is the medieval Shah Fazil Mausoleum, immortalizing the magnificent history of the Fergana Valley. There is plenty to see and do for trekking, horseback riding, cycling enthusiasts and those who want to get to know the amazing culture and unique features of Central Asia.
