Altyn-Arashan (translated as “Golden Spring”) is a high—altitude canyon in the eastern part of the Terskey-Ala-Too ridge near the city of Karakol. This gorge is one of the most popular attractions of Kyrgyzstan with its unique nature, hot springs in the valley, endless spruce forests and magnificent views. The Altin-Alashan hot springs are also widely known. They are located at a record altitude of 2,600 meters and have a healing effect due to the content of radon and hydrogen sulfide in the water, maintaining a high temperature of 35 degrees for radon sources and 41 degrees for hydrogen sulfide sources all year round. Some spas have indoor pools, while others are still “wild” in hollow stone baths and caves.
