The five-day Kyrgyzstan Essentials tour introduces you to the main sights of Bishkek and Issyk-Kul and visits the natural beauties of Kyrgyzstan. Picturesque Son-kul Lake, ancient petroglyphs of Cholpon Ata and romantic walks along the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake will leave you with many unforgettable memories.

Tour itinerary

Bishkek

Arrival in Bishkek and transfer to the hotel. Check in at noon. Sights to visit: Oak Park, Ala Too Square, Philharmonic Hall, Manas Statue, Victory Square, Eastern Market (Osh Bazaar). After lunch transfer to Ala Archa National Park (40 km). Alpine valley surrounded by high snow-capped peaks and steep forested slopes, through which the fast-flowing Ala Alcha River flows. Hiking in the valley. Return to the Alpine Camp. Transfer to Bishkek. Overnight at the hotel.

Bishkek – Son-kul (360 km) 

Morning drive to Sonkul Lake (400 km). Lunch in Kochkor village on the way. Arrival in Songkhul in the afternoon. Sonkul Lake is a remote mountain lake on a treeless plateau at an altitude of 3016 m, where shepherds bring their animals and camp in summer. In this amazing place you can see hundreds of flocks of sheep and various yurts, drink kymyzs, the national drink made from fermented mare’s milk with traditional bread and taste other dairy products and homemade jams. Dinner and overnight at the Yurt.

Sonkul – Issyk Kul (300 km) 

In the morning, travel along the northern shore to Issyk Kul Lake. On the way, visit the open-air museum of rock paintings, said to date from 500 BC to 100 AD, depicting wolves, long-horned ibexes, goats, horses, snow leopards, sacrifices and hunting scenes. You can also visit the local folklore museum in Cholpon Ata. Overnight at a hotel on the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake.

Issyk-Kul – Bishkek (280 km). 

Free time to swim in the lake or walk on the beach until 11 am. Transfer to Bishkek. On the way, visit the remaining Burana towers in the ancient city of Balasagin (XI-XIII). Farewell dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Bishkek – Airport. 

Transfer to the airport. End of the Kyrgyzstan Basic Tour.
