Horse riding tour to Chon-kemin Valley is a wonderful excursion that does not take too many days but gives you a lot of positive emotions. You can take amazing photos of Kyrgyz nature, enjoy its beauty, breathe in the fresh mountain air and feel like a nomad traveling for kilometers through the mountains and valleys on the back of a faithful horse.

Chong -Kemin is a unique natural park where many animals and plants are listed as extinct species. Although not far from the capital, the valley has managed to preserve its natural landscape, unspoiled beauty and the charm of wildlife trails and unpopular footpaths. The green slopes of forested mountains, the floods carrying cool water from the valley, the fresh, clean air, the pleasant summer breeze blowing over travelers – you can be part of it, composing songs and legends.

Tour itinerary

Day 1

Bishkek city – Chon-Kemin ( 170km drive)

Meet at the hotel. Drive to the beautiful national natural park of Chon-Kemin. On the way visit the historical architectural complex of “Burana Tower” (11th century).

Chong- Kemin is a unique natural complex, ranging from semi-desert to snow fields and glaciers, where unspoiled natural landscapes are preserved and at the same time located close to relatively large settlements. Visitors can enjoy the unspoiled nature of this wonderful place. After lunch, there is a 2-3 hour horseback riding experience where you will learn how to ride a horse and sit in the saddle (for those who have never ridden a horse before) in preparation for the next day’s horseback riding excursion. Overnight stay in comfortable guesthouse. Dinner in guesthouse.

Day 2

Chon – Kemin – Kol – Kogur Lake (horseback riding).

In the morning after breakfast, the climb to Lake Kel-Kogul begins with a ride on horseback. The Chon-Kemin valley is covered with incredibly rich forests: coniferous forests with spruce, remnants of Tien Shan fur trees; mixed forests with aspen, willow and birch; and floodplains (or riverbeds) full of shrubs and deciduous trees. Here you can get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the beauty of the Kyrgyz mountains. A picnic is provided for lunch.

3-5 hours later, depending how experience you have in horse riding, on a clear day, you will be on the shore of a beautiful lake, reflecting the surrounding mountains, greenery and blue sky.

We camp by the lake, prepare dinner, sit around the fire, tell stories and sing songs.

Day 3

Kol-Kogur lake – Bishkek ( 170 km drive)

From Kol-Kogur Lake to Chon – Kemin guesthouse will take near 3-4 hours on horseback. In the morning, go to the glacier on horseback. Then descend to Chon-Kemin. Arrive and have lunch in Guesthouse. Return to Bishkek . End of program.
