Tour itinerary

Bishkek – Burana Tower – Chon Kemin Valley (170 km / 3 hours)

The journey begins with an introduction to the famous “Manas” epic. In the morning, we head to the historic Burana Tower, where you’ll witness traditional horseback games like Kok Boru, a sport cherished by the legendary Manas himself. Afterward, we continue to the picturesque Chon Kemin Valley for an overnight stay in a yurt camp. Here, you’ll uncover the tale of Manas’s memorable encounter with Khan Koshoi.

Chon Kemin Valley – Karkyra Valley (355 km / 5–6 hours)

Start the morning with a hands-on experience of traditional nomadic life by trying your hand at cow milking. After breakfast, we set off for Karkyra Valley, traveling along the scenic southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. Upon arrival, settle into the yurt camp and participate in the preparation of the traditional dish “Ash,” famously mentioned in the tale of Khan Koketey.

Karkyra Valley

Spend the day exploring Karkyra and discovering the traditional competitions held to celebrate Koketey. Experience authentic jailoo games, including the strategic Toguz Korgool and the captivating Ordo, both deeply rooted in Kyrgyz culture.

Karkyra Valley – Karakol Town (120 km / 2 hours)

Head to Karakol town, where an unforgettable boat cruise on Issyk-Kul Lake awaits. While sailing, hear the tale of how Manas found strength from the lake’s mystical waters. Later, meet a Manaschi, a traditional storyteller, who will reveal the secrets of his craft and perform the epic with captivating skill.

Karakol – Jeti Oguz Gorge – Fairytale Canyon – South Shore of Issyk-Kul Lake (180 km / 4–5 hours)

Today’s journey takes us to a historic site where Manas once trained his warriors for battle. Explore the stunning landscapes of Jeti Oguz Gorge and the captivating Fairytale Canyon. Enjoy an archery session and witness an impressive golden eagle hunting demonstration. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional yurt camp.

Issyk-Kul Lake – Bishkek City (270 km / 4–5 hours)

Today, discover the art of yurt crafting in Kyzyl Tuu and take part in a master class on creating traditional shyrdaks in Bokonbaevo Village. Afterward, enjoy the scenic drive back to Bishkek.
