Tour itinerary

Tashkent – arrival

Arrive in Tashkent and meet your driver for a transfer to your hotel. Check-in is available from 14:00. Spend the rest of the day relaxing with no scheduled activities.

Tashkent – Urgench – Khiva

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a guided sightseeing tour of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan and the largest city in Central Asia. Begin your exploration in the Old City, where you’ll visit the Khast-Imam Complex, home to the world’s oldest Quran, originally commissioned by the third Caliph Uthman. The complex also includes the Barak-Khan Madrasah, Tillya Sheykh Mosque, Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Afterward, head to the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar, then take a ride on the Tashkent Metro to the city center, where you’ll visit the Applied Arts Museum. Following the museum, enjoy a stroll through Navoi Theater to reach Amir Timur Square, marking the end of the Tashkent city tour.

After the tour, you’ll be transferred to the domestic airport for a flight to Urgench, departing at 20:25 (1093 km, 1 h 30 min). Upon arriving in Urgench at 21:55, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Khiva (30 km, approximately 35 minutes).
Duration of sightseeing: around 5-6 hours.

Khiva – Urgench – Bukhara

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Khiva, a highlight of the Classic Uzbekistan Group Tour. Start with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ichan-Qala Fortress. Within the fortress, explore notable landmarks such as Kunya-Ark, Sayeed Alauddin Mausoleum, Arab-Mukhamadkhan Madrasah, Oq-Masjid Mosque, Madrasah of Hodjan Berdi-biya, Shirgazikhan Madrasah, Abdullakhan Madrasah, Juma Mosque, Allakulikhan Madrasah, Tosh-Khovli Palace, Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, and the Minaret of Islom-Khoja. At 19:00, transfer to the domestic airport for a flight to Bukhara at 21:00, arriving at 22:00. After arrival, transfer to your hotel in Bukhara.

Note: In rare cases, if the flight is fully booked during peak season, clients will be transferred to Bukhara the next morning by flight. Alternatively, travel may be substituted by train or a minivan.

Bukhara

After breakfast, begin your walking sightseeing tour in Bukhara. Explore the Lyabi Hauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Chor-Minor Madrasah, and the bustling trade domes. Visit the iconic Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque, and Miri-Arab Madrasah, as well as the Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan Madrasahs. Continue to the Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, and the Ismail Samani and Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. In the evening, enjoy a National Show at Nadir Divan-begi Madrasah followed by a delicious dinner at a National House.

Bukhara – Samarkand

After breakfast, continue your Classic Uzbekistan Group Tour with a visit to Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa, the summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir. This unique site blends both Oriental and Russian architectural styles. Next, visit the Mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi and the House Museum of Fayzulla Khodjaev. In the afternoon, depart Bukhara and drive to Samarkand (470 km, approximately 4-5 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel in Samarkand. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Samarkand

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour in Samarkand. Visit the magnificent Registan Square, the Gur Emir Mausoleum, the burial site of Amir Timur, the ruins of Bibi Khanum Mosque, Siab Bazaar, and the Ulugbek Observatory. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore at your leisure.

Duration of sightseeing: approximately 6-7 hours.

 Samarkand – Tashkent

After breakfast, continue your sightseeing tour in Samarkand. Visit the Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, the Afrasiab Museum, and the Tomb of Saint Daniel. Then, drive to Konigil village to witness the traditional process of making Samarkand paper from mulberry trees. Enjoy a farewell lunch in Samarkand.

At 16:30, transfer to the railway station to board the high-speed Afrosiyob train, departing at 17:30 (300 km, 2 hours 10 minutes), arriving in Tashkent at 19:40. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel.

Tashkent – departure

Check-out from the hotel by noon. You will then be transferred to the airport. This marks the conclusion of your 8-day Classic Uzbekistan Group Tour.
