Tour itinerary

Day 1

Almaty – Kolsay Lakes

At 7:00 am, your guide and driver will greet you at the hotel lobby to begin the tour. Depart from Almaty and head towards the Kolsay Lakes, arriving at 12:00 pm. After lunch, proceed to Kaindy Lake for sightseeing.

Lake Kaindy (“birchen” in Kazakh) is nestled in a coniferous forest at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Kungei Alatau Mountains. This 400-meter-long lake, with a depth of nearly 30 meters, was created after a natural disaster: a gorge was flooded, forming natural gates at the center of the lake. The lake’s submerged coniferous trees stand proudly above the water, resembling sunken mast-like structures.

Next, travel to the Saty settlement (15 km away) for dinner and an overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Day 2

Kolsay Lakes – Charyn Canyon – Almaty

Depart for Almaty at 9:00 am, with a sightseeing stop at Charyn Canyon along the way.

Charyn Canyon is located within Charyn National Park, established to protect its natural and geological features. The stunning landscapes of this natural wonder will leave you in awe. With a depth of 200 meters, the bluff mountains of the canyon rise between 150-300 meters. The canyon, formed by sedimentary rocks over 12 million years, is a true natural monument. The scenery here is almost otherworldly.

Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic and take some time to relax. Then, take a walk through the canyon to admire its breathtaking views.

In the afternoon, head back to Almaty, arriving at 7:00 pm. End of services.
