Tourist season 2025 opened
The 2025 tourist season in Kyrgyzstan officially commenced on May 3 in Cholpon-Ata, situated along the picturesque shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. The opening ceremony featured an international fair showcasing local artisans and folk art, including a traditional yurt assembly competition that highlighted the nation’s rich cultural heritage
The international forum “Tourism-2030: Central Asia as a single tourist space” opened in Cholpon-Ata, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, speaking at the opening ceremony, emphasized that tourism plays an increasingly important role in the world economy. He noted that Kyrgyzstan is actively working on the development of this sphere, creating comfortable and safe conditions for travelers.
Special attention in the speech was paid to the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to create a single visa-free regime between the countries of Central Asia. This step, according to Kasymaliev, will allow foreign tourists to travel freely in the region, combining in one tour routes, attractions and cultural heritage of several countries.
The head of the government expressed confidence that the formation of such a cross-border tourist space will strengthen the position of Central Asia in the world tourism arena, as well as become a stimulus for confidence building, development of regional cooperation and promotion of a unified image of the region under the brand “Central Asia – the territory of hospitality”.
