Avaza National Tourist Zone
In anticipation of the summer season in Turkmenistan, transport links with the Avaza National Tourist Zone, located on the Caspian Sea coast, will be expanded. This was announced by Mammetkhan Chakyev, Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, during a visiting government meeting in the Balkan velayat, the state news agency TDH reports.
To improve the transport accessibility of the popular seaside resort, it is planned to introduce additional railway services on the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi-Ashgabat route. A regular bus service will also be launched: from Balkanabat International Airport to the city of Turkmenbashi, and from there – directly to the Avaza tourist zone.
Additionally, the number of flights to Balkanabat International Airport from the largest cities of the country: Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Turkmenabad and Kerki will increase. These measures are designed to provide convenient and quick access to the Caspian Sea coast for vacationers from all corners of Turkmenistan.
Active preparations are also underway for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. In this regard, it is planned to organize special rail and air transportation for delegates. During the international event, the work of public transport – buses, taxis and other types of public transport – will be optimized.
The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of impeccable logistics for the successful holding of the forum. He instructed to ensure the clear organization of the transfer of participants, including the meeting of delegations, the allocation of specialized vehicles and control over the schedule of guests’ movements.
